Passion Behind Words
The third reason why I believe that Non-stop is the number-one action movie of the year is simply due to the characters dialogue. Not only is the script genius, the actors and actresses do a fantastic job interpreting each and every line with grace and passion. Liam Neeson who plays Bill Marks, has several notable lines throughout the movie. One of them being, "Someone on this plane is threatening to kill someone every 20 minutes, unless $150 million is transferred to this account number." This quote is important to the movie because it basically sets the tone of the movie and lets the viewers know what the remainder of the movie will be about. However, this quote is not only great because of it's significance to the plot, but also because of the passion the Marks uses to say it. Another important piece of dialogue is said is from Jen Summers, who is seated next to Marks during the beginning of the plane ride. At the beginning of the movie she states, "I always kinda liked it. Six hours. One seat. Nobody can get to you." In this line, Summers is talking about flying on a plane. It is important because it describes how she feels safe by being on an airplane, making the viewer think that nothing could go wrong. However, things go terribly wrong and Jen Summers view of protection on an airplane is changed. The dialogue stated above is in fact crucial to the movie however, it would not have the same value if the characters did not feel passionate about the words they were saying. Therefore, not only is the script well written, it is carried out in such a way that makes the dialogue that much more significant.
